Catalytic GACC Chloramine Reduction System
Dual Protection Against Chlorine and Chloramine with Tier1
As more cities shift from chlorine to chloramine for disinfection, homeowners face a challenge since standard carbon filters are not effective at removing chloramines. Catalytic carbon, however, is specially designed for efficient chloramine filtration, ensuring that no matter what disinfection method your city uses, you can enjoy clean, filtered water free from unwanted chemicals.

Catalytic carbon is specially treated to not only filter the same contaminants as regular activated carbon but also reduce hydrogen sulfide and hydrogen peroxide. The carbon used in Tier1 filters is Prop. 65 compliant for drinking water, certified to ANSI/NSF Standard 61, and meets AWWA Standard B-604. In properly designed systems, this carbon effectively removes chloramines, hydrogen sulfides, hydrogen peroxides, unwanted tastes and odors, chlorine, TCE, PCE, THMs, phenols, pesticides, herbicides, detergents, and more.

Upflow systems are highly reliable and low-maintenance, featuring a simple In/Out head design with no moving parts to wear out. As long as incoming water remains within the system’s parameters, the filter will continue to function until the media is exhausted. At that point, the media can be replaced without discarding the entire system. Since replacement media is much more affordable than purchasing a new system, upflow systems offer significant long-term cost savings.
