Overview

Description

The WH-RO-2000 Tier1 Whole House (2,000 GPD) Reverse Osmosis System provides up to 2000 gallons per day of refreshing filtered water throughout your entire home. This whole house system centralizes your reverse osmosis filtration process to dispense water throughout your home from one easily accessible and functionally efficient location. Due to the Reverse Osmosis filtration process, water flow rate is reduced. To effectively utilize this system for whole house filtration, it must be paired with a water holding tank. On account of the varying water holding capacity needs, the tank must be purchased separately, ensuring you are able to select the size that fits your needs. The WH-RO-2000 features a space saving sturdy frame made of powder-coated aluminum, making it resistant to corrosion, and easy to monitor and install. This system also includes a high pressure pump and high efficiency carbonator motor, ensuring the water will flow through the sediment and carbon block pre-filters, and RO membranes without losing pressure. Let Tier1 be your water experts and protect every drop.

  • Made in the U.S.A.

Contaminants Controlled

Sediment and Carbon Filter Pre-Filtration

The 5 micron sediment pre-filter is used to reduce physical particulates from the water source. Contaminants include sand, rust, silt, soil, and more. The contaminants are captured in the filter cartridge, helping alleviate stress on the following cartridges. The 10 micron carbon filter, the second part of the pre-filter process, reduces the presence of chlorine taste and odor. Most city water services will treat water with chlorine to disinfect the water, this treatment, while effective, can leave unpleasant tastes and smells that are best to filter out. Carbon media reduces chlorine taste and odors and allows water to pass roughly unimpeded through the filter.

Reverse Osmosis Membranes

The final step of the process are the RO membranes, these filters are capable of reducing water soluble toxins, such as heavy metals, organics, bacteria, and pyrogens by forcing water through a membrane that only allows water molecules to pass through. This critical component of the reverse osmosis captures a significant percentage of high toxic impurities, such as asbestos, hexavalent chromium, and lead. This systems triple membrane design allows for high rate of readily available filtered water and ensures you are receiving high quality filtered water.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Reverse Osmosis? The process of Reverse Osmosis is based on a pressurized or "reversed" form of Osmosis. Water is forced through a semipermeable membrane creating purified water by filtering unwanted particulates and contaminants. Like normal mechanical filtration, the pores of a reverse osmosis membrane only allow the free flow of water molecules, creating a flow to dispense water contaminants through a rejection or "brine" stream. The rejected water is funneled into a holding tank or faucet to be discarded.

If RO systems remove minerals, and mineral consumption is essential to health, does that mean I am reducing my mineral intake? If so, will there be negative side effects? This is a complicated question but simply put, Yes, RO systems remove minerals. But, No, there will not be any negative side effects. This is because the minerals found in water are not easily digestible. The minerals usually found in water are inorganic and are very difficult for one's body to process. The minerals found in food are primarily organic and much easier to consume. This means that the minerals removed by RO filtration are not a true source of nutrients for the drinker. That portion of our required nutrition should come from our food. RO water is clean and pure and will aid in hydration, which is water's primary purpose in the human diet.

What is the benefit of an whole home reverse osmosis system versus a water softener? The two perform different functions. A traditional water softener is used to treat water for hardness minerals such as calcium and manganese. Softeners generally use a process such as ion exchange to attract and then ultimately remove the unwanted hardness minerals. An RO system will be much more restrictive of the heavy metals and organics that will make it to your glass. Reverse osmosis utilizes a semi-permeable membrane to remove up to 99% of the contaminants from your drinking water, a far greater filtration of contaminants than a softener. NOTE: RO systems do not perform ion exchange and therefore should not be used in place of a softener if you are looking to treat scale and or hardness buildup.

Is my city water safe to drink? Municipal services will treat water with chlorine to help reduce bacteria but they cannot treat for contaminants that are picked up along the way to your home. Aging and corroding pipes will leach metals into the water, bacteria entering the system through water main breaks and other causes lead to the water in your home being loaded with various contaminants. RO systems are fantastic at reducing these contaminants and delivering high quality filtered water.

Does this system come with a holding tank? No, tanks will need to be purchased separately and should be selected based on your water demand needs.

If I move can I take the system me? is it a permanent fixture? This RO system can be easily uninstalled and taken to your new home. Its lightweight framework is ideal for accessing its components but also acts a convenient stand set-up for portability.

Will this RO system filter out beneficial minerals from my water? "Beneficial minerals" can be debated since the trick is to have minerals in moderation. What is important to consider is all the potentially harmful minerals and contaminants such as asbestos, hexavalent chromium, arsenic, lead and many many more which will be reduced from your water through reverse osmosis treatment. RO systems like this will remove up to 99% of the contaminants from your drinking water. The concern for your water is toxicity, not mineral content. Beneficial minerals are obtained in majority through the food we eat not the water we drink.
